There isn’t any machine, system or treatment that will work on everyone. However it is estimated that photo-rejuvination will work on 90% of the population. This is a popular treatment for those ladies who are fed up of using eyelash curlers, but love having curled lashes.  Small perm rollers are used to curl the  eyelashes, the same process as perming hair.

The eyelash curls will begin to drop gradually (one by one) after about two months. This does depend on how quickly you shed your eyelashes, generally we lose one a day.   Threading is a technique of removing hair practiced since time immemorial in the Middle East, South Asia and South-East Asia and now becoming popular in the West. Threading involves twisting a thread of pure cotton between the fingers and around rows of hair to pull them out of their roots.

Threading is most commonly used for eyebrow shaping; removing facial hair, like hair from upper and lower lips, chin, sideburns, space between eyebrows. Threading removes many hairs in one go, in contrast to tweezing or plucking, where hairs are removed one by one; so, it is a faster and less painful method of removing hair. For example, threading a set of eyebrows usually takes around 15 minutes and threading the upper lip takes around 5-7 minutes.

Threading is considered to be a more specialised way of removing hair, especially from the eyebrows, because it involves a technique of removing hair in their natural lines, thereby, giving a more chiselled effect and well-arched eyebrows.

Threading rarely causes harm to the skin and suits even people with sensitive skin. It is therefore, especially good for facial hair removal, where the skin is particularly sensitive. Threading is also often preferred over other hair removal methods like waxing, depilatory creams, bleaching etc. because they may not suit every skin type and methods like shaving should not be used. In this way, your skin is saved from the wrath of harmful chemicals and hot wax, and so, retains its glow and elasticity without falling victim to premature wrinkles as may occur after years of waxing.

Muscle Relaxation Treatment (Botox)

Facial lines are caused by the repeated use of the facial muscles in a particular manner. Just as a freshly ironed shirt will crease when worn at the elbow, as a result of bending the arm, so likewise our facial lines form whenever we frown, squint or smile. Some people have a distinctive facial habit - frowning, raising eyebrows - and they will in time see a set of facial lines appear which reflect this individual habit.

This treatment is a preventative treatment. Injections are given, usually to the forehead ‘frown area’, which temporarily put the frown muscles to sleep for a period of 3-4 months. This freezing of the muscle is always temporary and can never be permanent. The aim is to break the habit of frowning, and educate the patient in his or her facial movement so that one ‘forgets’ how to frown. Usually patients have several of these injections over a year or two until the frowning habit is broken. While the muscle is temporarily immobilised, the frown lines are not being created or reinforced. Botox is most effective for wrinkles in the upper part of the face. The ideal area to treat is the forehead, frown lines between the eyebrows and crow’s feet around the eyes.

The substance injected (a type of botulism toxin) has been used for many years as an accepted form of treatment for squints and nervous ticks. The substance cannot cause any permanent damage or travel within the body because it attaches itself to the muscle and cannot migrate from there. The injection technique that is used ensures that the substance cannot pass into the bloodstream. The action on the muscle is never permanent, that is why the treatments is called ‘The Hibernation Treatment’ as the patient’s frown is frozen into ‘hibernation’ for a few months.

Dermal Fillers (Restylane injections)

As we grow older, more signs of aging become more evident on our faces. This is recognizable as wrinkles and folds, or nasolabial folds. There are various injectable cosmetic fillers available to help improve upon one’s facial appearance and achieve a more youthful look. These fillers add volume and smooth out wrinkles. Collagen and fat are some of the more common fillers. Restylane is a new form of injectable filler that provides advantages over fat and collagen injections. Restylane is a non-animal, biodegradable gel based on hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a substance found in most of our bodies as it provides volume and fullness to the skin. Restylane has been proven to last longer than fat and collagen injections. It maintains its shape using the body’s own moisture. What results is a longer-lasting, youthful facial appearance.

Shaping by tweezers

Is an ideal method for those people who only have sparse eyebrows or who are on Retinol based medication.  It takes longer than waxing or threading because only one hair at a time is plucked out.  But very accurate results can be achieved.

Eyebrow waxing.

This method is ideal for people who have very overgrown eyebrows or strong hair growth.  A lot of hair can be removed at a time leaving a very defined line.  This treatment is not ideal for older more fragile skin.  As with any waxing treatment please avoid sunbathing, sunbeds and saunas for 24 hrs after treatment.
